Welcome to the Steel Toed Stilettos blog! My name is Amanda, and I am the creator and author of Steel Toed Stilettos – your DIY bible. (For the rest of this post, let’s just call it STS shall we?)
I have a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and work full time in construction project management. I started woodworking projects at a very young age with my brother and helped out with various projects around the house growing up. I have developed STS to provide the tools you need for maintaining your home by combining my passions for DIY, building, problem solving, and creating. Welcome to your new resource for all your DIY needs!
This is my first blog *gasp*! (I know, a little late to the game over here…) I am southern born and raised. I love to travel and experience different cultures, but the south will always have my heart. I am the youngest of four siblings and am the only girl. Painting and drawing are kinda my thing as well as lifting weights/nutrition (I have lots of “things” can ya tell?!)
Dogs are life.

What is Steel Toed Stilettos?
The Blog
Now that you know a little about me, let me tell you a little about STS. This blog will be a journal where you can follow along with my current projects and will be your source for many different tips and tutorials for how to maintain your home and for various DIY projects around the house. I have always had a passion for learning how things work and for developing the best plan of action for any problem. This blog is where I will bring those plans to you with all the hard work already done!

The Name
Now you are probably asking, so why “Steel Toed Stilettos”? What does that possibly have to do with DIY and woodworking? The idea behind the name is actually quite simple. It perfectly captures me as a person. I can go from a pair of steel toed work boots to a pair of heels with the click of my fingers. My guilty pleasure is keeping a fresh manicure but at the same time, I don’t hesitate to plug in my miter saw or grab a can of paint. It only seems natural that the name reflects the passion behind the products I bring to you.
